2011 QUEENSLAND RETRIEVING DOG OF THE YEAR

"Nero's: Sire, Macropus Monty C.D. ("Ace") and his Dam, Dual Ch (R) Jagdhunde Ozean's Vier (NZ) were both great dogs in their own right.
From the beginning, I decided that this dog would be trained differently from other dogs that I had owned, in that I would build a complete rapport with him.
With that as the focal point, a training regime was put into place.  He was entered in his first trial at the age of 9 months and achieved a 2nd Place in Novice.  At the age of 22 months, "Nero" achieved his first All Age win and just 5 months later (after consistently placing in All Age), attained his R.T CH.
This year he has been awarded first in four All Age trials, several seconds and thirds placings, placed 3rd in the Wide Bay Cup and recently placed 3rd in the Qld State Championship.  culminating in Qld Dog of the Year, FRA Dog of the Year & FRA Field Trial Dog of the Year.

At the age of just three years, "Nero" also attained his Field Trial Championship this year, making him the first dog in over a decade to attain the dual titles of Field and Retrieving Champion.

I am now confident that "Nero" and I will be a great team for many years to come and look forward to many challenges in the future.
